Leads Program for CalHFA Preferred Loan Officers
CalHFA recognizes loan officers who demonstrate their commitment to serving low to moderate income homebuyers with CalHFA first mortgage programs. Loan officers who have achieved the minimum number of closed and purchased CalHFA first mortgage loans will receive complimentary customer leads from CalHFA. These loan officers, called CalHFA's Preferred Loan Officers, will receive preferential listing on CalHFA's website and receive leads.
CalHFA's Preferred Loan Officers with the highest volume of closed CalHFA first mortgage loans annually will be eligible to become a CalHFA Lending Hero. CalHFA Lending Heroes will be highlighted on our website with a picture and bio for all prospective homebuyers to see.
Down Payment Assistance Programs
The money you put "down" or the down payment on your home loan can be one of the largest hurdles for many first-time homebuyers. That's why CalHFA offers several options for down payment and closing cost assistance. This type of assistance is often called a second or subordinate loan. CalHFA's subordinate loans are "silent seconds", meaning payments on this loan are deferred so you do not have to make a payment on this assistance until your home is sold refinanced or paid in full. This helps to keep your monthly mortgage payment affordable.
